Cured in Place Pipe Lining Instead of Sewer Pipe Replacement

There is an alternative to tearing up the street and it is called cured in place pipe (CIPP) lining that allows pipes to be repaired without digging them up. Pipes can be lined with different materials then cured in place to form a seal inside the pipe. With fiberglass pipe lining, the pipe will be good for much more than 50 years and the cost is about much less than replacing a pipe.

There are several CIPP products in the U.S. market including, fiberglass pipe liner exceeds the strength and curing speed of any of the other products. It is cured with ultraviolet light and goes far beyond other products in strength, reliability, speed of installation and environmental impact. It is the most cost effective in the rehabilitation of pipe infrastructure worldwide.

UV light curing technology has been around for decades. Ten years ago it was introduced into the German CIPP marketplace as an alternative to heat cured felt lining. Since that time it has grown to dominate the market, and felt lining has steadily lost favor.

Fiberglass lining does not shrink. It is also environmentally friendly because it is UV cured and not cured with steam or hot water which produces styrene-laced water, a by-product of using felt liners.
